Thanks go out to promoter Tom Dobrez, of Cool Radio LLC, who has a huge appreciation for rock music and outdoor concerts, for bringing these tribute bands together for the first time in these mountains. Dobrez hopes to return next year with a British Invasion concert theme.

One thing that’s for sure is Dobrez appreciated his concertgoers, as evidenced by the fact that after the final Jimi Hendrix tribute performance, Dobrez shook each and every hand of the concertgoers that he could get ahold of, thanking them for their attendance.

“It is so good to be here,” said Ralph Woodson, who pays tribute to Hendrix along with the rest of his band, Purple Haze. “Everyone has been awesome, from the staff to the crowd to the other performers.”

There was a definite mutual appreciation happening amongst the bands, which included Shakedown Street with Tom Constanten, The Who Show, The THE BAND Band, 4&20 (as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young), Purple Haze, Caravanserai (as Santana) and Creedence Revived (as Creedence Clearwater Revival).

Jennifer Johnson, whose boyfriend plays drums for the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute band 4&20, was thrilled to be at the Avon Performance Pavilion with the band.

“We are lucky enough to tour around the country and listen to these unbelievable artists, and we were lucky enough to come to the town of Avon,” Johnson said. A highlight for Johnson was hearing the music of Santana covered by Caravanserai and looking out onto the beautiful shimmering lake that was busy with boaters and stand-up paddleboarders. The sunsets were amazing, as well.

Standout Cover Rock concert event coordinator Christine Labadie was praised by her co-worker LeeAnn Marshall.

“Christine is authentic, awesome and respected by everyone that she works with,” Marshall said.

When Labadie is not busy coordinating concerts, she works as a chiropractor with Edwards Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center. Labadie is a class act who brought professionalism, charisma and flair to the event. Hopefully, you will see her at another Avon Performance Pavilion event beside Nottingham Lake or at another venue close to you.
